808s was cudi. without cudi there’s no 808

Technically ye made tracks with singing and auto tune before cudi came too studio so cudi didn’t make 808s.
Same situation with ye influencing drake. Drake was always more rnb then pop like ye. But 40 took the 808’s sound

Drake was definitely not more RnB before Ye. I can’t comment on his tape before Comeback Season but Drake was about as backpack as it came on that tape. Which isn’t a criticism just an observation.

People exaggerate his fall off too

IANAHB, C4, D6, C5, SFTW2. all great projects. and while they’re not like amazing or anything, IANAHB2 and D4 are just fun to listen to. the s*** he was saying is hilarious.

IANAHBII and D4 both classics to me especially D4 my 3rd favorite dedication tape after D2 and D5 that tape has some gems

808s is influence is undoubtable.. + he ended „gangster rap“ and paved with that the soundscape for the 2010s

Imagine believing this narrative made up by 70 year old cacs at Rolling Stone
