This is so ahistorical. Plenty of rockers worshipped bluesmen. Crazy how racist devils both destroyed and stole the music. Seems like an impossible duplicity to reconcile.

Im specifically referring to “rockists” - a particular attitude towards music as a whole that believes rock to be a superior genre and that genres such as pop, hip hop, and dance music aren’t “real music” or whatever. Not saying all rockers are like that

I'm pointing to the cognitive dissonance surrounding the disco-rock divide. The same goes for people calling it homophobia like glam rockers weren't also pushing the gender boundaries. No doubt are there bigots, but there are so many generalizations in here.
