Went into this not knowing anything about Wicked. Dare I say I really didn’t even know it was so connected to Wizard of Oz. I mean I guess a part of my brain must have connected the Wicked Witch with Wizard of Oz, but I was genuinely surprised like “Oh s***, it’s like that” when the opening scene hit and they were doing the ”the witch is dead, the wicked witch is dead” bit.

I’m also not a big musical guy. But I actually really enjoyed this. Ariana and Cynthia can f***ing sing lmao, and the acting was just so good from both of them. I hadn’t watched that Nickelodeon show with Ariana so I had never seen her act before but she was great. Not only in delivery, but her physical acting was phenomenal.

I’ve definitely heard a couple of the songs but didn’t know they were from Wicked. Popular was really stuck in my head, as was the loathing song.

Anyway, long story long I thought this was really good and can’t wait for part 2!
