Wii u kinda feels like they were trying to make the switch but the tech wasn't there just yet

still have my wii u, could've been decent if Nintendo tried. i regretted coping it day one so much I didn't get a switch at launch

I have a hacked wii u and it's great. Plays every single nintendo console ever released (besides 3DS and switch). Don't really know what more you could ask for. And there's still some great titles on there that haven't been ported like Nintendoland and the Zelda remakes.

there's some great games on there but the system itself....

bought it just to play botw then copped a switch in the end

literally can't go into the system settings of the console without the controller.

When they removed firehopping from mario kart 8 in deluxe thus removing the skill from the game

had a lot of great memories with this system, mario maker 1, splatoon 1, and smash 4 ruled my middle school years

Wii can play all Gamecube games
Switch has almost every relevant Wii U game

There’s no reason to play on Wii U/GameCube when there’s superior consoles to play them on.

It’s just that there’s no point in owning a Wii U if you have a switch. Wii U was like the weird transition phase that lead to the switch. That said, Wii U was underrated when it dropped

Still have my Wii U mainly for Galaxy 2.
The Gamepad doesn’t get enough love tbh. It was heavy but felt sturdy while gripping it. It feels way better holding than the Switch. I kinda wished the Switch Lite would’ve took inspiration from the Gamepad ergonomically with those humps on the back.

That isn’t even true though

• Switch games like never go on sale. All of the Wii U games on switch are full price even years later
• Wii U virtual console is massive and is the best iteration of virtual console
• switch is sooo uncomfortable to hold vs Wii U gamepad
• Wii U games that used both screens well suck on switch bc the flow of gameplay is completely changed (ZombiU)
• easy to hack and get free games with native Wii and GameCube support
• not every exclusive is on switch nor am I paying $60 for them
• Wii remote aiming is a lot better than gyro

If anything there’s no point in owning a Wii or GameCube

Nah nothing to appreciate about a failure.
