Lotta cap on the first page. The movie when it first came out was more or less universally loved. Then like 4-5 months after it was out, a meme of “it was the lion king in live action” started going around and people began clowning it. Then you had people make fun of those who dressed up to see the movie, and all the floodgates came loose. Racist undertones disguised as “it’s a s***ty movie” takes were pretty evident on twitter and ktt.

The worst is when other black people began s***ting on the movie simply because other people went hard for it.
