I love Drake's music but one thing that's annoyed me for a long time is his lack of verses where he just snaps on the beat. The type of verses where a rapper raps in a fast pace with an aggressive tone and usually doesn't stop for at least a full minute or so.
The closet songs in his discog that I can think of is maybe Only You Freestyle, F***in Problems, and 6pm In New York.
Drake usually raps in a slower pace where each bar is allowed space to breathe. I think ever goat tier rapper has to snap at least once.
you want him to rap like Eminem?
op wants:
I'm a spiritual lyrical individual
Spiritual miracle lyrical individual
Spiritual miracle individual
Skippin' and flippin' and dippin'
And skippin' and flippin' and dippin'
The illest, the killest, the skill of the willest
I'm the realest, I'm the realest
I'm bringin' real hip hop back, don't you ever forget it

Not that fast, something like Wayne on BB King Freestyle, Kendrick on Holy Key, or J Cole's latest freestyle.

so you want him to sound like how he did on Amen?
I did not know this was the definition of snapping on a beat.
I be hating on here sometimes but gotta keep it a buck , this man has snapped on literally hundreds of songs in his career
What the f*** are you talking about.

That verse is close but no cigar. He still sounds a little sluggish. I want that gritty rapping that makes people shake their head trying to keep up with each bar.
Drake snaps so often that we should permaban OP for even asking such a thoughtless question.

Literally all he does is snap
Lil Baby on Wants and Needs is a great example of snapping on a beat.
All of Drake's lyrical s*** be slow...When To Say When, Deep Pockets, Losses, Sandras Rose, Is There More, etc... Time to switch it up

Tbh Only You Freestyle is one of his hardest recently

Yeah that's one of my favorites because it actually sounds like some hard rapping. Drake too focused on making raps that sounds good live in concerts, give us some gritty s***
I get what OP means tho.
At a certain point Drakes started rapping "aggresively" a lot less and these days his cadence sound kinda lazy. I don't mind it because he still has bars.
Theres a big difference of Drake rapping NOW vs how he sounds on something like
