He's still regarded top 3 by anyone above 35 (i guess)

But the youth really doesnt care for him and his discog. They still care about Wayne, Kanye and even Em is more loved than Jay w anyone below 25

Will he even dare to drop an album in this climate?

  • Yes

He was just a hot late 90s/early 2000s NY rapper who cuffed Beyoncé and made smart business moves. Does he have stans outside of the northeast?

We’re definitely in a revisionist history era with Hov

Niggas act like Hov is weak now but Hov was treated like God on earth at one point

I’m starting to think the revisionist history arc is just an unavoidable part of being a GOAT.
I can’t think of a single one no one tries to discredit

    he already has though

if he died in his prime, people would more openly discuss his discography & impact

Jay is pretty easily top 5 ever for me

He can be #1 depending on the day

In 2020s and beyond probably not cuz his peers eclipsed him at his peak and nowadays he’s mostly known as a businessman than an influential figure in the culture

    which people?

    people who loved rap?

or people who didn't even listen to rap fr until they saw a white do it?

not to attack Em bc he's a great rapper as well, but its not as cut & dry like you're making it seem

Modern rappers still quoting Hov bars.

As for how the youth feels about him he’s just the oldest out of the ones you mentioned they’ll be a time where the youth won’t care for Ye or Wayne either

There’s also the fact Jay isn’t as active in music anymore

Yeah I know but will it stay like that is more so the question, since the youth really doesnt f*** with him

It isnt that he's just not as loved as Wayne or Ye. They really don't care for Hov at all

Jay-Z is 54 years old and debuted literally 28 years ago.

He has nothing left to prove. Rappers' legacies aren't solely dependent on them being hot with the current youth.

Billboard literally just ranked Jay as the number 1 rapper last year.

And I'm saying this as someone who doesn't have Jay as my GOAT.

So because kids who listen to Nettspend and opium don’t care for Jay Z, he didn’t stand the test of time?
