One of the big reasons that groups aren’t as big anymore is for labels it’s less costly to support one person than an entire team of people. Kpop definitely has shown it’s possible with enough manufacturing and the right formula, but that’s still a big risk to take given kpop is also big here because of exoticism which even a clone group can’t offer to the same degree. I think that there’s a good environment for r&b groups to come back but it’d really depend on label economics ultimately
