People posting duos itt when OP is clearly talking about groups like Jodeci and Boyz II Men is exactly why we will probably never have male R&B groups again.

    too much money.

From a technical standpoint, why split the money multple ways having 3 niggas doing harmonies when you as the singer can sing all the multiple parts by yourself? In every R&b group it was always one or 2 niggas that was writing all the songs/singing lead.

Also, from another technical standpoint, we don't have real BASS singers no more. (people forget how important that part was )

And if they are, they either in opera or jazz.

Would be nuts if the Weeknd, Drake, and Bugatti Biebz put out a Canadian R&B joint project

A project from three weak singers…PASS

Groups are only cost effective to break into the industry tbh. Everybody gets a big head and thinks they can make it solo

“ Also, from another technical standpoint, we don't have real BASS singers no more.” - There’s no place for them on top 40 charts/mainstream for lower voices in general. Even Giveon has to sing in the tenor tessitura outside his normal bari-bass range because of the GP ‘a obsession w/ high voices.. which is why billboard is always over saturated with whiny, airy sopranos or squeaky falsetto tenors.
