Highly doubt it, he probably just wanted a lowkey release and get on with his life. Seemed like he was working really hard on CLB with all the delays and inwouldnt surprise me if he just wants a break.

Ngl I enjoyed the album but his lack of enthusiasm is killing my vibe a little bit and makes it harder to rank above some other projects he seemed to be more engaged with

Drake’s mixing and mastering has been worse and worse ever since Views, which is exactly when 40 started passing a lot of the responsibilities off to his team. CLB is horribly done sound wise and it isn’t surprising to me tbh

I can see this. I do think he’s waiting to see what Pusha does. Kendrick and Drake will always be a polarizing relationship to me because Kendrick won’t ever go full in and Drake won’t ever shoot first when it comes to them. Especially now. But it always seems like a slight tension present in the music

I think he needs a break because he gives us so much. Especially throughout 2020. If the pandemic didn’t hit we would’ve seen a milli first week with hits like toosie slide, LNCL, what’s next and wants and needs. Not to mention everything we got on the actual CLB release.

Pandemic messed up the whole rollout and was probably gonna be received better without the virus.

Also every release since views there’s always been some s*** or someone tryna f*** with him, messes with the mentals of making music.

He just wants to let the music speak for its self. No extra s***.

Man I can’t believe they stilll havent fixed the mix for fair trade on Apple. The volume/loudness discrepancy is unbearable / it’s so ghetto, you have to literally turn the volume up when the song comes on every time.
I don’t understand how an artist of this magnitude and preciseness with his music would be having this issue
