like how could defund/abolish the police not make even more sense today with ICE's budget rocketing past $200 billion dollars as they kill and kidnap people in the street?
Newsflash. Normies don't care and actually think they should get funding
is there more context to hong describing her half white son as having "proximity to whiteness"

I'd say they do care since ICE hasn't exactly been greeted with open arms where they deploy at, Flock cameras being more known (and targeted) plus Trump's low approval ratings. they (we) are just easily mobilized against our best interests by disingenuously-framed reporting and opeds aka people are reactionary as hell
It's crazy how people think being"woke" and annoying is somehow worse than being fascist and killing poor people.
Anyone still excited about AOC after her DNC "working tirelessly for a ceasefire" bullshit is dim. When the establishment embraces someone with deafening applause, I know they aren't the reckoning I desire
Rashida Tlaib doing Stalinist purges please
It's too late. Woke us just a word for not conservative and removed from anything with black connotation
Yeah, but I'm moreso talking about intellectual discussions, specifically with those individuals who would call themselves "progressive" or "liberal."

meanwhile nypd's $10+ billion budget grows exponentially (already top #30 military spending in the world), the spread of flock/palantir encroaches further in dozens of states (even after councils vote them down) and we're well past spending $100+ billion billion on an unjust war/genocide instead of on the people who need it here.
but defund is whats 'radical' and abolish a police state is whats 'crazy'..
Newsflash. Normies don't care and actually think they should get funding
Actually bro "normies" don't have an opinion other than "that's sad" or "politics or the news is too negative" or "me and my family are just trying to survive"
The maga cult isn't as big as they make themselves out to be
Woke 1 wasn’t crazy. You can’t give these niggas nothin. You give em an inch, they take a mile. You ever hear about conservatives saying s*** like “oh we took things too far”? No they double down
Woke 3 in theaters 2027
it was a smidge crazy
What AOC refers to as Woke 1 is actually Woke 2 and now we're in the dawn of Woke 3.
It objectively was, people will continue to look back on things like trans ideology, pronouns culture and ethnonarcissism like the absurd social contgions they are
Who were the ethnonarcissists?
Woke 1 wasn’t crazy. You can’t give these niggas nothin. You give em an inch, they take a mile. You ever hear about conservatives saying s*** like “oh we took things too far”? No they double down
Was just about say the exact same thing. Now they will use the next 6 years talking about how very reasonable things were crazy admitted by AOC.
I keep hearing this and to me it means this was a lot of young people's first encounter with social justice activism and the academic/historic vocabulary needed to speak authoritatively about it. Some people got carried away in the fervor and ended up just lashing out at everything perceived as unjust or even purposely seeking out unjust things that felt underdiscussed, just to feel like we could purge them from society, even if they were our own fellow powerless people (AOC mentions cancel culture as one example that was a mistake in this same interview)
So like yeah some people went so deep into Woke 1.0 that they literally just became performatively neurodivergent genderfluid he/him lesbians who still wear covid masks and just LARP about the issues without having ever read a book. It just gave a certain crowd an identity and a moral alibi.
Woke 2.0 so far seems to be a lot more concerned with the issues that unite everyone like whether you can afford to own a home or whether AI is coming for your job or whether your tax dollars go to fund a genocide. Police brutality and sexual harassment/gender discrimination in the workplace and rape culture and ableism, gentrification, toxic masculinity and all those things are still pervasive and unresolved but I think the coalition is moving in the direction of addressing the root causes of these problems. "Be ruthless to systems, be kind to individuals" Like most people don't care that much whether you say the r word anymore but we all can't afford groceries type s***
is there more context to hong describing her half white son as having "proximity to whiteness"
That clip was so evil to watch to me
Woke 1 not being considered some s*** that was started by black people and was really only meant to be used by black people is funny. Woke just mean anything now

Very long, but it seemed like an agreed upon resurgence started around then and there. Even in conscious spaces (That I’ve experienced) it was not so common in the 2000s
