Women are the primary consumers of music and consumerism in general, and as a general rule I imagine that female musicians are easier to sell to women than men, who often need some kind of s***appeal or keen insight into women’s sensibilities. I’ve worked with some ad agencies on the west coast, and they’re all a.) primarily concerned with selling products to women, even products FOR men because women tend to buy things for men, and b.) these ad agencies are so heavily dominated by women that I wouldn’t even recommend a man get into the ad business in 2022. Women run the consumer economy.

nigga be serious saying men releasing mid music and listing taylor f***ing swift who didn’t just put out two awful stevie nicks tribute albums. phoebe bridgers hasn’t dropped an album in 3 years and won’t drop one this year according to her. also these are mostly indie artists and well look at the other big name which is dua lipa. her and megan dropped a song and it peaked at 15. there’s plenty of good indie male artists and cool mainstream ones too as well as bad ones
