Its kinda touched on in Superman. At the start of the movie when Lex talks about Planet Watch, Rick tells Lex

"So we're going to lock up all metahumans now?"

In defense of Superman and metas

Then at the end of the movie, where the JG stops the conflict theres another scene where the secretary tells him

"Glad you're not concerned about the metahumans, cause now they're the ones making the rules"

Then in the 1st episode of S2, Rick is watching like a news broadcast where they were reporting that metahumans were frequently breaking out of Belle Reeve and Arkham and you can see him pondering it.

Its probably gonna be touched on more in MOT tho and im sure it has a lot to do with Lex manipulating rick because of the way their meeting went and how he was acting in the finale with lex's old team

tbh this was expected but we still gotta stop this man

I remember Gunn saying he rushed himself to make this season after Superman because of a promise to Cena. U can feel it in the writing

I do have to say, I love Tim Meadows and I am glad he’s going to continue on in the DCU
