My work carefully tracking how much work we do. It's well and truly over for me and my temporary contract. Don't get me wrong, I'm not in here often. I'm often bored, but I'm often working bored. But those other temp contracts? They blitzing through this s***, man.. I can't compete.. But it's early days and hopefully the issues plaguing me subside soon... Maybe I'll pull it all off.... Customer center guy called me earlier today regarding a question about a client.... We had a little chat. He said "oh, another temp contract? You should come join us in the customer center if they don't offer you a permanent spot there!". He seemed like a good, fun guy! We shot the s***. But talking to strangers 7 hours a day?.. I'm not built for that, man... I'm a little bit introverted... I can be loud and often will be but I need to recharge I can't be talking to customers over phone every single day.....
on my lunch break. knock on wood but today might be my first lax day in months. literally been busy from January - now. hope this continues for the summer.

It’s absolutely draining to people from observing most customer service people. Forced positive robots

I can only imagine! Not an environment I would last in.
Indeed not hittin?
The place I'm working at rn was just straight off LinkedIn, but to get your foot in the door in these public accounting firms, you gotta drink the kool aid sometimes
@Asaki got a rejection email at midnight last night
blaming it all on the recruiter. dude was so unorganized/unprofessional
You dodged a bullet tbh. If a recruiter can't keep up the facade then the company's prob in shambles

The grind continues you seem like you've got a good head on your shoulders so I'm sure you'll get an offer in no time

you ain't wrong. this is what he ended up doing lol
when he initially emailed me last week, he asked me to set up a meeting on his calendar, which i did. he emails and texts (???) me asking to set up another one because his calendar wasn't updated, so i went ahead and did that.
on tuesday, he calls, texts, and emails saying he is having technical difficulties, and then proceeds to ask me when my interview was
during the interview itself, he seemed really disinterested and interrupted me to put me on hold for 5 minutes
shame because the position actually seemed really solid and kinda what i was looking for, but it is what it is. not sure if he's just throwing apps at the hiring manager since he's a recruiting consultant for the company, so idk if he's getting commission off of new hires or what.
been getting a good bit of responses back looking for these audit/compliance positions, so it's really just a matter of time at this point.

hellllllll no put you on HOLD during the interview? the f***ing audacity
I would've walked out right there and then. the f*** is wrong with that dude
good to hear that you're getting responses, usually that's the toughest part to overcome. means that your resume and experience is at least up to snuff for what you're applying for
@wes word of warning though if you're wanting to go into IA-- make sure with who you're interviewing with that the job doesn't just entail SOX compliance. it's a really, really good thing to have on your resume down the line that you worked with operational audits and risk assessment.
that way, whenever you get sick of just doing IA work, you would be able to pivot into other departments easily.
So my work jus announced we get friday's off the whole summer
How? Why? Where?

yeah, like 10 min into the interview, he told me to hold on for a sec
i'm mainly going for IT audit positions since that's more inline with me currently being in IT. would like to try to leverage that into an info security position since that's what i wanna get into, but it's hard as hell w/o any sort of previous professional experience.
actually part of the reason why i went for this position since it had a focus on security. but yeah, most of the positions i've applied for usually have some sort of risk assessment in there, not solely just SOX.
appreciate the input
