Unless you have some chronic illness disability ofc

Get up and go to work mofo. Only socially stunted weirdos brag about that s***. Cool? You can avoid talking to people for days on end, bazinga!

It’s easier to pay you s*** wages when you can’t get to know your coworkers and form a union b/c everyone is f***ing off at home, and god forbid you trust people to actually be tech savvy

All this is doing is preparing you for is to get your WFH job from Charlotte, NC outsourced to Kolkata, India when they realize they can pay someone even less

This may be one of the most sinister things to come since COVID

Truthfully, WFH ain't stopping a job from outsourcing your s***. It all comes down to being able to pay somebody less and a company saving money by not having to bother with office spaces.

no one said it did, just that it was preparing you to. Which is true.

of course capitalists will cut costs where they see fit

I’m talking about WFH because it’s most relevant post 2020

I've been thinking for some time how fitting it is that at the top of the hierarchy in capitalism you get rewarded with total isolation. Everyone has to interact with each other to run society and you sit at home.

Yes, in the few cases you do make 100k like that user said, you become more focused on “me me” and not the collective strength of the working class as a whole

Most workers isn’t making near that WFH, and companies will never feel forced to when they can divide workers arbitrarily through things like this

    Yeah I was like wtf

I’m a socialist anyways all that stuff are bandaid solutions under capitalism

Even in a society where you get the full value of your labor compensated, no one is going to be inside their own pods just working by themselves

Humans are meant to work together in some fashion at all times

Human interaction takes mental capacity so it's understandable to avoid. I love staying at home. Maximum comfort but you aren't really fulfilling your role as a social animal. Not a great experience.

  • Hybrid model is good

People want to WFH under capitalism understandably because the pay is s***, commute is unfriendly towards people not having a car, etc

Not yalls fault at all. But fully remote is not good

While I'm more for in office (mostly because my work can't be done from home and I prefer in office anyway) getting on people who prefer WFH is wack. My commute into work is 1.5-2hrs long, and I gotta pay $32 for my bus fare in and the transit service is f***in dogshit. I totally understand nobody wanting to deal with that s***.

    Because humans are insufferable

  • Also imma say this, it's a lot of people who don't wanna socialize with people they work with. They just there for a check and wanna get home. Again, can't blame them at all for just wanting WFH. People f***in suck.

Idk about all this but a normal work week really needs to be Mon-Thurs and weekends Fri-Sun. Weekends are way too short, a 5/2 split makes less sense than a 4/3 split

Disagree most people just wanna do the job and get paid without all the extra bs. Having forced conversations with colleagues and managers u give no s*** about is cringe to me. I have a social circle outside of work and I meet some work people too. If I had the choice of doing 5 days I'd take it (currently go to the office twice a week)
