I'm surprised somebody hasn't tried to revive the mixtape concept. So many guys out now grew up in peak mixtape years, would think it would be a good way to get some promo off nostalgia bait alone.
theyve been doing this
I’d honestly take another dedication from Wayne than tha Carter 6 rn
Weezy and Drama went stupid on this

Whole tape was fire, Wayne would def kill the best beats from the last couple of years
No remixes no posse cuts s*** ain't right man.
I dont like it but (featuring Travis scott, gunna, Lil Baby, lil durk, 21 Savage, Meek Mill) has been the rotational posse cut for a minute
Felt like panda was the final song to really get this treatment
I made a megamix of all those remixes, and it got copy right strikes on SoundCloud. This is why it's died. F*** all these sample laws
GUMMO
GUMMO
did that really get a lot of big name remixes though? I wonder if wayne ever did that beat, hed snap
DSPs killed beat jacking cause u have to clear beats now. Free sites like DatPiff would have to come back which they won't. SoundCloud is right there but nobody wants to upload there tho. S*** getting sold anyways
DSPs killed the whole industry on my mama

im pretty sure your mix falls under fair use. you wouldn’t be able to put it on DSPs for profit but you legally are allowed to host it on youtube or SC at least in the US so

well that got me banned from uploading to soundcloud. I had 2 prior hits I think for uploading free mixes, mainly with fan made remixs/additional verses on songs (cant remember the uzi x mac miller song from like 2016 but that was an example w other rappers too, "cameras" ?)

But capitalism breeds innovation

Offset and a bunch others I can’t think of offtop

Also, There’s a lot of Beat Makers and not enough Producers is an argument that still stands.
Niggas used to go to WAR over a Retro Kanye beat
Jack the wrong nigga beat and say something turbulent could’ve got you punched in the eye
Jesus how have I blocked this tape out of my memory, was heat
Who would even be the line up for a new 1 Train type track
all of those guys came out within like two years of that song dropping so it's hard to say but if you were allowed to stretch out the meaning of young up coming rappers that can rap well i'd say
NLE Choppa, Kyle Richh, Polo G, idk who else
some semi-recent posse cuts that was solid but i feel like there's no young talent in america that could be like stuff we were getting consistently 10 years ago
