The beats are a strain of what most people agree is the “trap” genre, obviously it basically just means a certain drum sound at this point but nobody thinking about Young Jeezy when we talk about trap anymore. Call it what you want but it’s mostly very similar to what other “trap/street” artists use, he’s just the best rapper to use them

Agreed and to the people complaining about people being tired of trap beats, hell even Lex Luger’s beats were better than Wheezy and them’s s***s. Pierre the only one that has interesting prods. there are innovators and people who do it excellent but every artist makes one out of a few types of songs which leads to fast food music

The problem isn't Trap production it's generic trap production which alot of the YB type of rappers like using.

Most of the people who make those comments can't distinguish between drums on a song or a real trap beat man. The only reason he gets this flack is because he's from the south. People don't criticize detroit or cali and they use heavy drums now as well
