u sippin on 90 Proof Nostalgia if you think beats from the 00s sounded more varied from each other than current beats do
a lil wayne album alone had more diversity in beat selection than the last 5 years of mainstream rap what are you talking about lol
eh how long he been doing these type of beats tho lol
the s*** was on some parody s*** when damn near all the beats on his debut (the one wit the roddy ricch antisocial looknig cover) were on some super similar s***
yb music cool but he gon reach the next level when he diversify his beat selection
He's been using them beats for like 6 years bro lmao
def no song near as interesting as wusyaname
How would you know if you never took the time to explore his music fr? His discography is huge, you’ve only heard a small percentage of that.

Maybe you can recommend him a song
I actually prefer his rapping lol. I'm really big on Louisiana rap
I respect it
I prefer his singing but i know the rapping has deep roots n scene
I guess that melodic trap sound just isn’t for me. I loved Dugg and YB on this record but for the life of me can’t get into their solo s***. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with that.
Sometimes words change meaning. There’s a difference between trap music and what became known as “trap beats”. At this point hearing the words “trap beat” and thinking about what TI was rapping on in the 2000s is kinda like hearing “gay” and saying it means “happy”
I agree with you there to an extent that's why I mentioned how guccis sht basically extended to later artists but people trying to randomly associate everything with drums as trap music really frustrates me
thats absolutely trap
he don’t, just say u don’t listen to Yb clown ass nigga
yb needs better production
idgaf if it’s trap or not but it gets boring
stuff like FREEDAWG is amazing and he doesn’t have beats like that most of the time
also he drops a LOT so you eventually dig yourself deep enough through the beats given to you that you get boring stuff
2000s had their own drums n structure on all coasts even to some cities what r u talking about
Unless you only paid attention to one side
Soul and snap wasnt the whole story lol, even in the mainstream
Literally everyone uses almost the same 10 snares today in the mainstream thanks to the internet & file sharing
Thats a fact
Its homogenized, even down to the soundfonts, loops n patches in a lot of cases
He's been using them beats for like 6 years bro lmao
thats like wayne still rapping on bling bling i need a hot girl sounding beats in 04 (as opposed to elevating to making Tha Carter) so why u saying that like thats not a long ass time
bro 🤦🏽♂️
This isn’t a trap beat?
How would you know if you never took the time to explore his music fr? His discography is huge, you’ve only heard a small percentage of that.
why torture myself listening to 300 yb songs just to find 20 good ones

My point was he doesn't use trap beats the way people on ktt2 suggest. Im not gonna deny he's been using Louisiana's sound for a long time. I'm just saying that isn't trap music lol
he don’t, just say u don’t listen to Yb clown ass nigga
you putting all this extra sauce on it is a great display of why yall are so attached to defending these criticisms
yall think it make u hard or something to like this type of music or "understand" these types of artists LMAO
Why some of ya acting like production doesn't play a huge role in how someone enjoys a song lol
I don't even think there's a problem with him using louisiana styled production for a long time. Hella rappers do similar s*** and they don't get criticism lmao. Trav been doing the same sht for years. Pusha T. Big Krit. Ross. List goes on lmao.

his music cool for what it is but all we saying is that he'd sound better on more diverse beats
same for thug and he's gonna do it too late in his career lol
I agree with you there to an extent that's why I mentioned how guccis sht basically extended to later artists but people trying to randomly associate everything with drums as trap music really frustrates me
I feel you and Youngboy does have his own sound to a degree but I could easily hear Lil Baby on like half of his beats
So because he likes him better on a beat that's not generic trap music that uses the same drum patterns on every song, that makes him racist? Even though the beat he likes better is also produced by a black man? Some of the people on this forum man
Lol the go to formula is to just call everything racist.
Quadra ain’t even really wrong here but like we can’t just write off every criticism of s*** by calling it racist imo
