Tyler needs to produce for other artists.
Cause for years Tyler was only striving to get in the popstar world
I do hope with this album he start working with more niggas.
What’s a real trap beat consist of besides drums in your opinion? You talking like drumma boi and lex Luger? Feel like you’re splitting hairs, the drums are the defining aspect and then there might be flutes or guitars or synths depending on the era or trend. It’s about tempo too, usually Cali is more traditional hip hop tempo so it doesn’t sound like trap
depends on the artist. T.I, Jeezy, and Ross had beats that were more soulful. Gucci was more gutta and that's the sound that extended more to lex southside metro until metro branched out and worked with others.
i have only listened to 1 yb album and wasn't big fan. i checked few songs on next one and realized it's almost the same. im not saying i thought he was trash, i just got bored listening to this sound by him. thats why i made this thread
“he release 5 albums each year that sound the same
“I have only listened to 1 yb album”
Lol
Bruh, youngboy literally does the same thing. His sound is an extension of early BR and NO music. The sonics, the bounce, and his energy is all Louisiana. It's not ATL lmao. If he said gunna or lil baby, I wouldn't comment on it being trap but these arguments get lazy and redundant when people don't want to think critically man.

His singing is way better & refreshing than his rapping imo
They don’t want him to
It's a shame because it's petty obvious at this point that artists can have significant hits on his beats. Earfquake was big and WUSYANAME is going to chart high. Tyler has become pop without forcing it.

eh how long he been doing these type of beats tho lol
the s*** was on some parody s*** when damn near all the beats on his debut (the one wit the roddy ricch antisocial looknig cover) were on some super similar s***
yb music cool but he gon reach the next level when he diversify his beat selection
u sippin on 90 Proof Nostalgia if you think beats from the 00s sounded more varied from each other than current beats do

Sometimes words change meaning. There’s a difference between trap music and what became known as “trap beats”. At this point hearing the words “trap beat” and thinking about what TI was rapping on in the 2000s is kinda like hearing “gay” and saying it means “happy”
“he release 5 albums each year that sound the same

Lol
yeah so. the f*** you want me to listen to every yb album haha. you make 5 albums per year, bruh you know it's the same style

people only look at the big names from that era and don't realize even back then niggas were making critiques about Neptunes beats sounding weird lmfao
i just don't like how ppl pretend a rapper is bad until they get on a good beat
a song can be bad bcuz the beat sucks but that doesn't mean the rapper sucks it's two components to a song
i disagree, you're only as good as your songs are

It's a fact that loops and sample packs have become cheaper and more common which makes things sound more homogeneous, we had a thread about this a while back
But s*** always gets repetitive once it saturates the market. Crunk, snap, all that s*** sounded the same after a while. Nothing new there.
people only look at the big names from that era and don't realize even back then niggas were making critiques about Neptunes beats sounding weird lmfao
but u still had neptunes polow timbo ye, bangladesh toomp, etc. all with their own sound regardless of "neptunes beats sound weird" lol
They be talkin out they ass lmaoo
On god bro lmaooo that’s why ya nerd comments are on point because they real life be on some lame s***.

2000s had their own drums n structure on all coasts even to some cities what r u talking about
Unless you only paid attention to one side
Soul and snap wasnt the whole story lol, even in the mainstream
