American deathmatch stuff is definitely washed and at this point is just borderline crackheads or opioid addicts attacking each other with not a lot of showmanship or “story”. It’s a shame because vintage CZW was amazing, and the old, old backyard wrestling amateur VHS rips are like peak wrestling. But Japanese stuff is still keeping the old spirit alive, BJPW is amazing for deathmatches still, and old Japanese stuff like FMW is archived super well, especially all of the best matches. I don’t follow much non-deathmatch stuff but I know Stardom is another actually good Japanese circuit but it’s a female only league
