anything that touches & affects someone is worth being appreciated, even if it's only one & not the millions that XXX did.
also I'm not sure what your criteria for appreciation is, but I do think there are flaws in his music. maybe it wasn't as polished as it could have been but you have to remember most of what he put out in his life was made before he was even 20 years old. When someone dies young, all the potential for advancement and growth is cut short, and I think that despite his music not necessarily fitting certain criteria, most people can agree that they saw potential in the music he was making & the vision he had.

But his lame hit Look at Me (2015) and the mixtape Revenge (2017) somehow appealed to those who enjoyed hatred, vulgarity, and plain stupidity. The albums Free X (2017) and ? (2018), containing Sad generated a lot of hype although the artistic level was virtually non-existent. In 2015 he was arrested for a robbery, and in 2016 he was arrested after beating his pregnant girlfriend. XXXTentacion was shot dead in 2018 at the age of 20. Not a big loss for music.
