Wasn’t crackdown 3 going to use some form of the cloud for the destruction in multiplayer? I can’t remember but didn’t it end up getting scrapped or significantly toned down when the game released. I can’t think of any current examples of games that use it to its full ability
The average consumer definitely won’t care but they also aren’t the ones buying next gen consoles on or around release. The people who it’ll affect are the ones who are looking for the best console experience they can get without spending 2k on a powerful pc. Just personally I don’t think it’s consumer friendly to give those people a handicapped experience just because their internet can’t support the speeds the cloud needs to give the best experience possible.
there is no next gen without machine learning and cloud optimization like its not sustainable at all to charge 500-600 every 10 years and gamers expect to see major graphical and hardware changes. Then have devs consistent shifting to make new engines and pray their new ip or whatever remake or sequel of the same tired idea will sell enough disc to keep them afloat. that simply isn't sustainable. Thats not sustainable for Xbox, Nintendo or Sony. Again its the reason sony is pushing so hard on live service because they KNOW their current model isnt sustainable.

They were going to use cloud to simulate the destruction on servers instead of locally. Was scrapped
Call of duty and battlefield now do this. Destruction and Ai and ballistics are run and calculated on a server then displayed to you

battlefield 2042 kind of squib kicked it as well on the destruction side vs previous games

That’s pretty cool, i’ve got 100 hours in 2042 and never would’ve known if you hadn’t of told me. I can’t even imagine how devs in 5-10 years could implement it to their games.

Like again I am calling it now with GTA VI getting some sort of improvements from being always online

They are smart to not market it cause you know how gamers be and get mad when you tell them the game utilizes the cloud and requires internet!! But if you don’t tell them no one notices and it’s hidden in the options menu how much bandwidth this s*** is taking to stream to you lol

I only got unlimited wifi in my area about a year ago, that’s probably what was eating up my data cap all the time
I just opened twitter oh my lord the word “cloud hybrid” has set a storm with these people
I agree that the future of gaming is digital but who ever does it first is gonna get s*** on. It’s funny that Xbox would volunteer for that role when they’re getting outsold by PS 3:1

Valve did it in 2003 and got heavily s*** on for years

Its expected 100%
Sony still dipping its foot into streaming, machine learning and things that microsoft really genuinely has them outclassed on. Gaming and actual experiences 100% I overall give it to Sony but Microsoft has been playing towards long term

Valve case they had some genuine killer apps at launch or close to it but yes
I can only imagine how mad phil’s gonna be when he wakes up lol, the FTC leaking your lineup for the next 5+ years is insane
Ubisoft, EA are trying the same things but a genuine digital only is such a risk because again in store sales are still MAJOR

Sony and Microsoft both gonna do it. All I’m saying is Microsoft 100% reading these comments and will pivot to add an optional disk drive just like Sony is gonna do with the refresh.
Plus these documents are years old don’t take everything as face value. You got documents here saying Indiana jones is coming out this year

these documents are genuinely before the activision deal was started
these documents are before starfield was even internally delayed so this is from like 2021 or early 2022
Glad to see Phil already knew how much of a f***up 2022 was with nothing to show

yeah that makes me wonder how much of this is still the plan, i’m sure the FTC wouldn’t just completely nuke microsoft like that with no censoring without at least making sure they can release some of it first
Glad to see Phil already knew how much of a f***up 2022 was with nothing to show
Redfall(hopefully)

he’s saying he hopes that that’s their next big first party release. Not that he hopes it’s big in popularity
