I think that will be for the regular consoles but the Series S is just too undercooked and devs are literally mad it and trash it because it holds their games back and as of now Xbox has a rule if youre releasing a game on their platform then you have to make it work on Series S as well

Which is why a good amount of games bow are literally PS3 tech tier at 720p to 940p & 30 frames not stable

Ive always said Series S is a bad investment outside of Gamepass because not only are you getting low settings of games but also its highly likely to get dropped due to 3rd party devs mad at it (and it hurts their ps5 ports as well since they have to create and adjust for the lowest specs that being Series S) and also to go crazier & advanced with first party titles

Which is part of why Halo Infinite and Starfield has some of its issues/limitations

Outside of inital PR - the Series S was just a bad move altogether

if you dont try to upscale series s and run it at 1080p or close to it the issues are much more limited than upscaling

Games aren't even on UE5 yet. It released fully last year but ideally Epic would have gotten it to devs even sooner and implemented in games.

Unreal Engine 4 released in 2014. It is now 2023 and there are still games using it rather than using UE5 . There is the constant call for 4k 60fps then wondering why every game feels like it could run on PS4 or PS4 Pro when its running on an engine nearly 10 years old or modified version similar to it.

There aren't many if any games deserving of buying an Xbox Series X or PS5. Xbox Series S for again as low as 150 sometimes on sale gets peoples foot in the door to play games who don't need 4k 60fps or the most powerful console when PCs priced at 600 or no with 0$ for paying for an online service a year and great savings with steam/ digital sales are available.

The console gaming market literally has to shift to survive. Without mods, free multiplayer, better MSRP on digital sales . Buying games out right for 70$ on disc or not and playing them once, trading them in or them sitting on a shelf for some magical "game preservation debate from people that have a game collection of under 20 games from the past 20 years has got to end.

If we want to see games after move the medium forward and be sustainable to make something has to inherently change about the buy a game, day 1 update, "oh no it doesnt run at 4k 60fps every minute of gameplay", console war, timed exclusives, full exclusives and focus on games as a service.

That can't happen if no one takes any form of risk it simply cant. I think people should be able to play some of these major games with a low barrier of entry . That makes gaming more accessible. You yourself said you are streaming Starfield on your Xbox One. Xbox Series S can stream games and s*** can be modified to play old games too or emulators . That is a Win
