For sure. This s*** looks so stupid I can't wait. Everybody is spooked by the turn based s*** but I like JRPGs so don't mind. Looks crazy interesting.

this your first yakuza game?
......lol thread is 7 pages long my guy.
just askin man
have only heard good things about like a dragon. glad they made the change to the turn based combat. the brawling got a little bit played out after 0-6 + judgment.

Personally, Idk if it was the right move. 0 & 6 helped with it’s western commercial appeal. I could see 7’s turn based system being a turn off for a lot of people. Could be a classic example of if it aint broke, don’t fix it.

0 is so damn good man, enjoy it. make sure you take your time and do those substories.

yeah, i'm (obviously) waiting to get my hands on it before making any final judgments. like you said as well, i love jrpgs, so i'm a bit biased, so i'm cool with the change. i think judgment's combat was actually really solid, considering it's just more of the same. but yeah, you do have a point though.
i believe RGG said they were willing to swap back/change the combat if the fans didn't enjoy the turn based combat. regardless, i'm more than looking forward to the game.

0 is one of the best in the series.
You plan on going 0-6?

It’s been one of my most anticipated games this year. Knowing I love the turn based style and I love Yakuza I don’t really see an avenue for it to be a miss for me personally. It would have to be some bullshit. Like you said i’m biased also.
It’s a big risk tbh, they could turn off existing fans(temporarily) and scare off potential new ones.
Looks dope though.
Just finished Judgment and damn that game and story was amazing and the best introduction to the Yakuzaesque games.
I liked the pace, the fighting system etc, some detective gameplay was reused at multiple points but done slightly differently each time.
overall a hidden gem for ps4 took 70 hrs.
I beat Kiwami 2 recently. I've been playing the series in numbered order. Waiting for a sale before I cop the remastered collection

Man.
I have 0-6 and I want to go back and play them all on ps4 from 0 but I am going to wait until after I play 7. 7 has the potential to be one of my favorites after playing it yesterday.

what'd you mean by sega/rgg having a problem then?

forreal man. judgment is such a good game. the detective gameplay aspects were just kinda alright, but other than that, everything was really really good.
the dynamic intro for the final kuroiwa fight is so clean

7(Like A Dragon) is SO fun. It was so fresh & so unique but Idk if they’ll be able to get people away from the classic beat em up style the game has become known for. It’s a really fun set up but so far from what people have become familiar with.
The only thing I would’ve suggested is that they let you move the party member within the battle area like DQ11. Because the objects in battle were a bit useless otherwise.
The problem is a good problem. This is a really good game that I hope they dont ditch if people want that beat em up style back. Hoepfully if thats the case they can do both. Its a great game(obviously Idk about the story. My friend imported the game. She was quite a ways into it but she also speaks Japanese). I’ll just say it was fun. Story could be a dud as far as I know lol but its Yakuza. Story always gone be nice.

My gf wants to play this when she finishes Y6

good to hear all of this man. the combat change has actually gotten my friend more interested. don't think he's a big fan of the brawler aspect, but he really likes the turn based combat. but yeah, def curious to see how newer fans think of the change
as for the story, i hope it's pretty solid, but i'm not too worried about it. i've always pretty much enjoyed all the yakuza stories, despite some odd choices they decide to toss in each game
crazy how it's only two months away

she's in for a ride.
yagami is a REALLY solid protag. would be cool to see a sequel with this cast, but not really expecting one. definitely has one of the better yakuza stories as well.
