Thinking about making a purchase but thought I’d get the opinion of KTT’s finest before I do. Give me the pros and cons. If you already have a switch, is it even worth it?
I hate using the switch in handheld mode and prefer playing on tv, but if you like handhelds then on you
Wouldn't really recommend getting a switch right now tho if switch pro rumors are true then prices should drop on the reg switch and the lite I'd imagine
If you already got a switch I don't really see the point tho? Idk what the size difference is but that sounds like the only real reason to get it if you already have the switch

Basically everything this guy said.
I’m very sure there’s going to be a revision this year if not early next year so I’d wait for that if I were you
Debating trading in my current Switch (It's the V1) and getting a Switch Lite. After I gotta PS4 I hardly ever use my Switch on my TV. Might as well just cop the Switch Lite.
If I get one I'd only use the handheld so there's no point getting a normal Switch, right?

Not necessarily. You can't take off the joycons to play something with local multiplayer or to replace them. It's also nice having the option for TV even if you dont plan on using it often

hmm
I definitely won't be using a TV because I don't have one lol but local multiplayer sounds good

how you got no tv fam

I use my computer for pretty much everything. I barely have room for a TV so not worth me getting one
I wanna get one too, but I'm scared asf of getting joycon drift on it. At least on the regular Switch you can just send in the controllers, but you're kinda SOL if your Lite starts drifting.

had mine for a year and a half and despite the thumbpads coming apart, no drift problems for me
yet
its fire one of my favorite things nintendo has made haven't used it much since last july tho

Kind of the same thinking here and my brother borrows my switch a lot

Someone mentioned that Nintendo got that new Switch thing coming so if you can just wait for that, but if that doesn't interest you then go head and sell your current one for the Switch Lite.
Honestly what's really making me consider it more is the fact that I miss my Vita lol Switch Lite is basically the same thing.
id just get the normal switch, unless you only ever see yourself playing in handheld
it’s nice to have to option to play on the tv sometimes
also there are switch revision rumors, and they may likely happen, but at the very earliest, it won’t be until the end of this year
a lot of the components arent even going into production until the summer

Oh yeah the whole chip shortage thing probs why they aren't producing many more PS5s either
I bought one on impulse a month ago, bc I hardly play video games anymore I just wanted it to pass the time when I’m in between stuff. I’m pretty satisfied with it
Nah. I had it for like 2 days and returned it.
The regular switch is king. Bigger screen, TV connectivity, and if your joy cons drift you could just get a new pair. With the light you have to send the whole system in
Does anyone know.... I have a regular Switch and I have some games purchased digitally
If my gf bought a Switch Lite would we be able to get the digital games on it?
Ppl will say it sucks bc you can't dock and "if you get drift you're f***ed" but I've had mine well over a year and I'm fine with having it solely as a handheld and have had no issues with the device itself. Plus you save $100 over the og. It's a great device, I'd recommend
having the option for handheld or tv is a game changer Imo.
take my switch to work and play on break and then come home and plop it on the tv
with the pro rumours floating around idk when it'd release
