This has been his issue for the longest, I don’t think people realize how important Plain Pat and Emile were in that early Cudi sound. While Dot is a dope producer he doesn’t seem to have much influence over Cudi’s projects. Let’s not forget that he wouldn’t have finished Cudi Zone if it wasn’t for Emile and that MOTM2 sound is heavily influenced by Emile, just listen to his production outside of Cudi. He would have benefited from letting others executive produce his albums tbh

I don’t even think it’s about him going back to making sad songs, it’s about him actually having dope production and a vision. KSG is a great example of Cudi still having it, he just needs a team but for some reason decides that he needs to prove something by working alone a lot of the time.

Thought he was back on track with MOTM3, Entergalactic, his Netflix special, and all the other success he was having but the rollout for Insano has felt like a huge miss. Cudi's felt off lately.

Personally I think he's gotta stay off social media. I know he probably loves interacting with the fans but you can tell he's reading the negative comments too. Just lock in, make an album, no trend chasing.

I just think he wanted to make a fun record, I don’t really think he was “trend chasing” like you’d say. I do agree he gets too caught up in social media responses, but he’s been super self conscious about that s*** his whole career. That isn’t anything new.
