Just from experience, unless you're getting big contracts or working with the FAAANG niggas there's a million of y'all under qualified folks. I didn't start getting consistent contacts from them after I worked on a major project.
Well I work for residential design firm, so there's never any shortage of work.
Yeah bro, you're making it seem like getting the hardest jobs to get in tech is as simple as knowing family and/or friends. That's NOT how it works. I've worked for Google on Material Design in NYC and Adwords in San Francisco. They drag you through multiple rounds of Design exercises and interviews. Friends don't help with that s***

That dude doesn’t know what he’s talking about. A referral from friends or family will guarantee you a first round interview at most.
I'm a digital designer (house design). I am underqualified on my paper but a beast in interviews and people need people and the program can be self taught.
EDIT: $25 with raises every 30, and that's below rate for qualified designers. Most relaxed job I've ever had s*** is cake. Was throwing my body away for jobs making less.
What program? Was it a fine enough learning experience?
Networking
I got into positions i had no experience with paying a lot of money just from networking with bosses from the job i was at.
I also work my ass off where its kinda bad im ocd af about my work so they liked that a lot.
Work at my job as a paint contractor for ships. They pay you like $23/hr plus $120 a day each day you work untaxed.
So if you work 7 days a week you’re pulling About $2000 a week after taxes.
$8000 a month after taxes.
It’s pretty gnarly. No college experience needed.

Bro I’m telling you it was simple as a zoom interview I worked at two locations in Georgia that data center is fairly easy to get into if you know someone
It’s gonna be a lot of networking (for us all) especially as someone without a degree. This is as good a time as any to brush up on your social skills, and also keep your eyes open. Look for opportunity, not $

If you’re lucky enough to get on the right program you can work overtime every single day for like two years straight.
It’s not uncommon for a paint contractor to pull $80k-$100k a year. You don’t even need a HS diploma to get these jobs and they pay really handsomely.

Do you just hit them up on LinkedIn?
Do you have related experience in the field you ask for a job?

I havent done this personally but it might be worth a try
ppl who didnt go to college always either feel low key insulted that im pursuing my degree, or they are trying to convince me that its pointless and they somehow have the answers im seeking. either to sell me something, or to convince themselves that they made the right choice.

school isn’t for everyone no knocking u but there are other ways to get it. Plenty of graduates at my job now with a degree getting the same pay

"why are you in school mannn?!? i got everything i have without school mannn. now just gimme $500 and we can get rich!"
Working at Google in the tech department is possible but very hard to reach the level to where you're a fit candidate. It's possible but takes a lot of time effort and patience. I myself wouldn't want to.
I'm shopping my resume at the moment for a front-end development job with no formal education (just a certificate) and no experience. S***'s gonna be tough but I know I can do it. I'm looking to go to meetups to see people face to face (or online) and possibly network my way into a position. Good paying job for me starting off would be 60-75k. Single, no kids, not much overhead, no student loans. I'd be gucci with that salary knowing that in a year or two afterwards I can move up to nearly 100k

Man if I had no technical skills, no talent or anything (not knocking you by any means) I'd most def hop into some labor fields like this. That or becoming a train conductor. But if all else fails atleast I know those will be there
How did you get into that
Mfs bullshit their resume and get hired here not knowing how to do Jack s*** all the time , hop aboard
sign me up looking on indeed rn lol
This is one, bullshit your resume and get you’ll get hired. Majority of tradesmen hired are clueless and just lie on their resume and learn as they go.
If you’re a pipe welder they pay you $50/hr plus $110 per day untaxed.
And a few other skilled trades start off at $27/hr and up to $37/hr plus per $110 per day untaxed if you have some actual experience.
Trades are a cash cow , college really is a scam lol
