The end remarks made me think. He’s right on some level, what do we get from Drake/his music? Like from Kanye, I got some “socially conscious” stuff mixed in with your typical rap, but I think a main theme people get from Ye and his music is confidence & belief in self.

Idk what I get from Drake. I consume his music a lot but outside of “Drake n Drive” type memes earlier on, what am I really getting out his music? I gotta reflect on that

The shopping with an edge s*** was funny af, but this is some hater s***. And I was a huge fan of Mos Def growing up. Would sit and watch this nigga smoking cigs in interviews talking about politics and s***.

Back in the day, popular radio music excluded hiphop and R&B and pretty much black music in general. So when you referred to a pop song, you were talking about something that wasn’t hiphop that sounded a particular type of way.

Today a rap song can obviously be as popular as any other type of music, but the term is still mainly used for that Katy Perry ass type of music. He’s calling it pop to say Drake doesn’t make what he deems to be hiphop. That he’s making some other kind of s***, which is incorrect and just some more hating ass, boom bap, “hiphop is only what I say it is” bullshit that old niggas be doing.

Also, Kendrick is my favorite rapper before any of y’all start with the Drake stan s***.
