Oh yea I wanna be clear I do disagree with Mos on not classifying Drake as “hip hop”. I think that’s absurd and borderline hater s***. But being familiar with Mos Def’s background, his artistry, I can sort of see where he’s coming from, but then if it’s a genuine critique and not a jab at Drake, I think a lot of KTT faves wouldn’t be considered “hip hop” according to Mos Def

This conversation is tired and it definitely stems from hate cause from a old head perspective I get it they had to follow a certain formula to still have respect from fellow rappers but Drake took it to heights we have never seen he can do the Rap tracks like boom bap and then drop a track like passion fruit so I get the jealousy cause it’s like you can’t deny he is good at both but I’m sure he understands it comes with the territory still I know he hates the fact that folks still can’t grasp how he is able to create the magic he does
