Thats right! Nice memory. I could def feel the beats were off on JIK. Compared to Yeezus and TLOP, JIK felt flat even when the drums were going for epic...but I am not expert on mixes or drums

Yeah definitely feel that as well, most songs on JIK that felt like they'd have punchy lows felt pretty well nerfed for release (Follow God, On God, Closed On Sunday, etc.) and the scrapped tracks were also typically heavier when it came to low ends in the mix/EQ (Up From The Ashes, Glory, Baptized). The leaked version of Closed On Sunday from a September listening party and the October 23rd/LA version of Selah both have a much more spacious and dynamic mix, he definitely made a lot of bizarre choices in that regard to release when it came to the mix
