We had BRAT this year which will be remembered as one of the iconic albums of the 20s
You’re right about this so I won’t fight you
7/10 pretty good but gonna end up getting overhyped in retrospect like 2016
Tyler, Kendrick, and Charli dominated this year which was great and a lot of other artist released some good music but there were only a hand full of albums i was in love with
better than 2023 marginally
election years usually suck total f***ing ass, and distract us from other things happening in the world
6.5/10
All the best stuff has been dropping in the 4th quarter thus far. Feel like there was a big drought at the peak of the Kendrick/Drake beef
7/10
Beyonce, Tyler, Future, Glo, Q, & Billie Eilish had solid projects. I haven't gotten around to hearing Brat but I hear thats great also
Classic beef / records
I really enjoyed some of the less mainstream releases also (Doechii, Lupe, Rapsody)
Beyonce has SOTY so far (to me, Kenricks a close second) but there's a bunch of singles Imma listen to for a while
If Drake, Roddy, Soul, Rocky and Cole come through this'll go down as the best year this decade easy. It's not touching classic years like 1994 or 2001 but thats ok. I'm not even sure if its possible to have years like that again, given the current state of the music industry
Loved the Mkgee and Mustafa albums
Shadbowbox by Mavi is mad underappreciated and maybe the best album this year.
We also got #RichAxxHaitian which is phenomenal

You're leaving off a certain rapper from Atlanta who dominated and helped Kendrick dominate this year.

Them Future albums was mid honestly
I had a pretty good year, especially as a Kendrick fan. Kanye should've stuck to 1 release though
quite a few memorable rap songs this year but nothing I heard from the other genres was hitting. other than that Cindy Lee opus.
