Op is right and dudes was clowning on rage beats when Trippie kept making the same song
But as long as artists like yeat make good music people don’t care
I wonder what’s after rage and pluggnb for the new gen although I love the sound
Why wouldn’t they do that though, artists in that subset are subject to zero scrutiny for any creative decision they make
And their uptick in listeners is just as likely to be caused by a hot co-sign, or the wind, as any art they’ve made. It’s so fickle, why be anything but derivative if it gets you to a point of turning profit
this x100
why shouldn’t they do it when we’ve let so many people do the same to thug keef and future lol
so in plain english, u don't like that a lot of other people are taking inspiration from yeat
3 strawmen in a row with op falling for it every time
can't tell who's worse here

It really is moreso on Carti imo
I really can’t get with blaming artists who others go and copy because they like the aesthetic and possibly try to piggyback that to fame. It seems lame to pin the problems of the clones on the originator.
They feel incentivized to do it and find it fun to copy them but I don’t think it’s “yeats fault” or cartis “fault”
i dont think yeat was even that influential i think the underground sucks because the production has gone to s*** completely
This thread mightve hit like 6 months ago..but with artist like Xaviersobased, Joeyy, Lunchbox, Untiljapan, Icytwat, Oodaredevil, BashForTheWorld, and Osamason there are clear efforts to differentiate and expand the sounds of the underground. It's just developing stages. This happens every time lol
