Nice, man, respect to you too brother!

I know you love Yeezus. Like, I enjoy a lot of it parts, but others I really can't get past by.

I'm In It, Blood on The Leaves, & Guilt Trip sonically are masterful.

& I love black Skinheads & New slaves subject matter.

Maybe I just need to revisit it again. But it just never really got to me.

Yeah man I remember it took me a LONG time and many listens to click. I guess it just didn’t hit me immediately like some other people. When it clicked though, it clicked hard. And then the tour happened and it was on a whole new level for me.

It also was the first era that I became a Stan. Was only a big fan prior (since LR) so the sudden shift probably propelled that particular album to new heights as well.

Plus I’m attracted to darkness in music. Was a huge Gesaffelstein fan prior to Yeezus so this sound itself was a blessing to my ears.

I could understand though how someone else may not have the experiences/qualities that I just shared and therefor simply not match up and resonate with it.

    All love.

Somewhere between ''long time'' and ''many listens''.

College dropout - mbdtf are timeless classics. Yeezus ain’t bad but it’s the start of his decline in quality. I can see why people like it but it’s too electronic and angsty for me

do you mean CD and MBDTF or that whole run? If u mean the run i gotta disagree harddddd I mean i loved grad and still like some of the songs but to me that is by far his worst aged album. what you said are fair, its not your taste but imo they have nothing to do with aging poorly. if anything I think those things made it age well. grad on the otherhand was so poppy and current compared to every other one of his albums that it literally dates it. LR, Yeezus, MBDTF, 808s (the autotune sort of dates it but its still popular and he uses it in a different way with unique beats) sound like their own thing. CD is fine as well some stuff sounds old, but not played out). To me Yeezus is easily top 2 for me and currently #1. But that doesnt matter, its more like, how much do you like yeezus now compared to how much you liked it when it dropped. I was never the biggest CD or LR fans compared to Grad but I still think they aged better than grad, for example. classics can sound dated, sometimes they do because they were so iconic and influential. sorta works against it, and yeezus not being radio friendly enough stopped it from having copy cats all over the charts. anyways rant over lol

The beauty of music my man it does something different for everyone. Grad probably has the weakest sequencing in his discography as far as the order of the songs (shoulda swapped big brother and homecoming) but it has some of his most timeless songs, most of the album can be played in any occasion. Yeezus isn’t that type of album but it’s still cool and forward thinking for a mainstream rapper to go so far left field sonically. Black skinhead still gets play in movie trailers but I don’t hear anything else from yeezus getting play and I actually just recently ran it back after not listening for like 2 years and couldn’t make it thru on sight, I am a god and blood on the leaves lol. I rank his albums LR, MBDTF, CD, 808s, Grad, TLOP, Yeezus, Jik, Ye. Yeezus was one of the last CDs I bought too lol

yeah true got no problems with u ranking kanye low, i just think we are thinking about dated/aged poorly differently. never hearing yeezus anymore isnt to me a sign its dated. it was never going to be that album with songs like that. lots of classic old albums that have aged well and are timeless dont have the songs that are the biggest hits. fair enough on not getting thru on sight, i mean it is what it is and i mostly enjoy it because its the intro to my favourite album. but the rest is mostly just f***ing enjoyable fire beats and on sight is like the outlier

If you think the production on BOTL, Bound2 or HML is trash then just do with both your ears like Van Gogh fam

The beats on those 3 songs aren't even "abrasive" or "weird" & are pretty normal Kanye production

Mediocre album that edgy weirdo hipsters praise to no end lol. S***s far from a masterpiece. I wouldn’t say it’s terrible either tho. 6/10
