808s is special and groundbreaking, regardless of if what it means/meant to you. Foam runners are just unique, as in they're the only ones like them. An album with accolades and groundbreaking factors and forward thinking in it's genre is not the same as a shoe with holes all over it.

808s is special in general. That's what you don't understand. 808s isn't just "for it's time" because it's more than the era it was released in. It still holds ground today and has long standing effects and accolades. 700s are only "for that time".

I still did not try to put the foam runners in the same boat with 808s, i compared 808s to 700s and my mention about the foam runners was about you saying that the only special of the shoes i mentioned was the qntms and v3s. And I still think the og 700s is special and looks good till this day just as the 808s sounds good to this day but that's subjective at the end of the day

that's my bad then. Just swap foam runners for 700s in my responses then. Post 350/750 his best/most interesting and good looking shoes are wave runners, azael v3s and the qntms. Adidas wise. Actually no prob in general cause most of his yeezy shoes weren't anything note-worthy

Just like 808s when the 700s came out a lot of people hated it but more people liked it the more the time went on. And he made a lot of people start wearing dad shoes who wouldn't wear it by wearing it himself just like with pink polos. And there's many brands who has blatently ripped of the 700s and some who obiously taken inspiration. My point was if 700s released today it wouldn't be as special since there is already many similar dad shoes on the market. Same with 808s & heartbreaks, if it released today the album wouldn't be as special.

Both can be great. AJ1s are classics and are timeless, where as the qntm is different and innovate

I agree, they're classics but I think they've become cringe and overdone like the 350's. I couldn't see me rocking Jordans anymore, I can appreciate the shoe but I fit more within the YZY vision

I definitely agree, theres so many dumb colorways getting thrown on retros nowadays just for nike to make a quick buck. I think the off whites do so well because its a fresh design take on classic shoes. I think jordan brand needs more of that
