This is a great formula he’s got.
Yorgos/Tony McNamara collabs for the bigger budget, crossover, awards season, studio backing ones (The Favourite, Poor Things)
Yorgos/Efthimis Filippou for the weirder, outwardly alienating ones (Dogtooth, Sacred Deer, Kinds of Kindness)
I love all the marketing for this film so far. It's so creative and visually outside of the box.
seems like the general reception is good but nothing too special
which is kinda what I assumed
If this is anything like Sacred Deer I’ll be obsessed with it. I love that movie more and more as the years go on and it was already A-tier when I saw it premier weekend

We’re so back
Poor Things was awesome, but it hasn’t exactly aged super well in my mind. Hope this film has smoother pacing.
"For another, “Kinds of Kindness” would have failed to embody the courage of its convictions if not for its willingness to risk alienating those in its wheelhouse — to push them to the outer limits of their displeasure, only to realize that the relentless inertia of Lanthimos’ longest movie is an expression of his love for anyone willing to sit through it. After all, what relationship is more codependent, or more abidingly beautiful, than that between an artist and their audience?"
i was already gonna be there day one for yorgos, but this sold me even further, excited to watch
