After he puts out SL2 5 months from now, he will take another 2 years to tease Punk while putting out lackluster EPs and collab projects. Then he will eventually scrap Punk in favor of another mediocre solo album just following trends

You’re bugging
I’m here for your explanation though, I love when KTT2 users get hypberbolic, and can’t support or speak to their opinions in detail 😂

It plays to the trends in rap at the time and all the songs just sound like "here today, gone tomorrow" type s***
I bumped that s*** for a few months but its just fast food rap. It doesn't have the staying power of projects like EBBTG, Jeffrey, B6, etc. where he experimented a lot more musically and vocally

Interesting?
What are the trends? Which songs correlated to them?
“Just How It Is” is incredible.
“What’s The Move”
“Mannequin Challenge”
“The London”
Looking for you to unpack the trends in 2019 that he followed

He was just so much more safe here than on previous records
Every song sounds like s*** that gunna, baby, uno, a boogie, and all them generic trap rappers was doing at the time
The London most definitely sounds like a typical Travis Scott type song too.
I thought by comparison, Future was a lot more creative with The Wizrd in terms of subverting the trend to do something more singular

I agree with the project not being as futuristic as previous projects
But it’s hard for me to say Thug sounds like people who sound like him
Also, he said this album unlike the others was full of bangers. For years a lot of fans screamed, hollered, and begged for a project like SMF.
Thanks for sharing your view.

It's almost like that's why it's called So Much Fun
Because he didn't wanna do anything to serious

Don't make excuses for that lazy drivel. Album was a slap in the face to everyone saying young thug was a creative artist

Lol he literally explained that’s why it was called so much fun.
Man spent his whole career experimenting and pushing the genre forward and now u got a problem when he puts out something to get returns with commercial success?
Def wasn’t a slap in the face to any real thug fans lol.

All his albums are fun lol
Playing it safe ain’t fun

I think it’s still possible to play it safe and sound like others even if they were influenced by him
Idk I can’t say I ever wanted an album like SMF
I like what artists like Kendrick do where they’ll treat albums as a serious thing and then do the fun and trendy s*** through features so I was fine with thug doing that by doing feats and then pushing the genre with his albums
And like EBBTG, B6 and Jeffrey still are really fun projects. They’re just also more off the wall.
