SMF was enjoyable, and has some highlights

But I remember feeling disappointed on first listen as he played it super safe on that project

personally I wasn't disappointed but at the same time, I see what u mean. in terms of stagnation, he dropped 1 album playing it safe so we will have to see if he continues to do that but ik ill enjoy it anyways. when it comes to looking after his label, even though gunna is the best one on it, thug has inspired so many people and alot of these people are arguably more successful than him so I understand him tryna grow his sound internally through ysl

No it won’t. Thugs status is solidified for someone to surpass him they have to surpass his older work first which no one has come close to doing.

Slime Language 1 was Thug's truest and most genuine form. SL2 he went with a more commercial sound.

Also thug already kinda explained why he pivoted towards More commercial success When u putting out some of the most creative music and it’s making u no money what does it benefit to keep at it.

I prefer his older stuff over SMF
