I see a lot of what OP was thinking. I was thinking the same the other day when I was like damn when we getting a Thug drop. And SMF was great, but he definitely took a way more mainstream approach with his sound this time around when compared to his old output.
He's been focused on building up his brand and his people but there's not anything wrong with it. Guy deserves the success atp.
don't understand smf slander cus its still hard the way y'all describe it is like young thug fell off a cliff
Tbh
Also it totally worked
Hitunes leaks were f***ing terrible and the public didn’t want that s***
Okay, I'm reporting you.
SMF >>> Jeffrey, Super Slimey, I’m Up, etc
Honestly your not wrong besides I’m Up
SMF >>> Jeffrey, Super Slimey, I’m Up, etc
Jeffery > I’m Up >> SMF >>>> Super Slimey
his career been weird after he never dropped a real debut album (hytunes) and since that era he's just got by without really having a structure bc he makes dope songs
To be fair, the "longer than 3" sentences (including OP of this thread) are teenage half-baked opinion-laden drivel imitating the (declining, never even particularly good at its height) style of music review blogs. I completely understand the fidgeting
All posts on this site are ‘opinion-laden’

Tl;dr ^^
Imagine reading any of that
A lot of words to say nothing of substance. Many So Much Fun songs are as old as your favorite Thug projects.
He purposely curated that album to break through in the mainstream. Now he’s established and can kick back.
YSL is a money machine. Let that man do him.
He fed us for three lifetimes already. Your entitlement is worrying.
I feel like career-wise he's been fine post-2017, but creatively he's gotten himself trapped.
This recent announcement that he's branching out into an acting role is yet another red flag to me, as it makes me think we may never get back to those creative maverick vibes he used to have.

I agree with OP but the argument where you said that Thug is a established figure now is correct
I see a lot of Thug copycats now thanks to So Much Fun imo

But you’ve just echoed what I initially said…
I agree with your point about SMF - it was just a commercial vehicle for him yeah.
I’m sure YSL is a money machine, but my broader point is that it’s a shame it is restricting us of solo Thug output when he is by far the most enigmatic artist on the roster.
No entitlement here, you’re projecting. After Barter 6 the two solo mixtapes were brief at 8 & 9 tracks respectively. Jeffery was short as well. BTG was a proper outing. But since then have we too often found his voice obfuscated by other guests on his projects. No artist owes anyone music really, all I’m saying is it’s a shame he focused his efforts on those around him rather than himself
