not in this case
for Thug specifically, he has the right to a speedy trial (which, for other defendants, was waived due to covid policies i think), and at this point, selecting a new jury will cut it very close. he might not even be able to be retried because of this
It felt like he was in jail from 2014-2016 lol
Which i guess is possible in 22 months
Yea he went August 2014 officially but the reason it felt longer is cause people forget he had his other big arrest September 2012 for like 9 months. As soon as he got out for that, he got arrested again when he smacked that reporter then after that is when the Twitter rants started and boom the next arrest that September 2013.
So technically he sat for like 2 years and 6 months but wasn’t officially sentenced until August 2014.
My bad I’m a wop stan haha

Ok thought I was crazy at first like what you mean Thug has been locked up longer than Gucci?
Gucci felt like he was out for a solid 4 years with tapes set to pre drop every 2-3 months lmao

Again you don’t get how it works.
Right to speedy trial pertains to the length of waiting while being indicted and the trial starting not the duration of the trial itself. Not 100% certain but I believe that speedy trial time would reset if a mistrial is declared, giving the state ample time to restart the case before that point.
You don’t get how it works.
A mistrial without prejudice means the state can retry the case again and they probably will because they are too invested with f***ing this man over.
A mistrial with prejudice means he can’t be retried for those same crimes.
A mistrial with prejudice is off the table based on what the judge said, so even if there is a mistrial without prejudice thug will probably still be denied bail and held until the next trial starts and we start this process all over.
With all that being said, free thug.
Thug already a felon tho isn't he? Which obv illegal in Georgia to get caught with a gun as a felon, max of 5 years
He had a machine gun which is a max of 5 years too and d**** too if I'm remembering the charges correctly
Idk how the charges will stack, depends on the judge I guess, but I could see him getting another 2 or 3 years
Georgia, specifically the county he’s in, has 2 for 1. He’s already sat for nearly 3 years. He’ll credit for the last 2 years

You right. By the time he gets out tho he’ll have sat longer
People on here were acting lime he deserved the f***ing chair, we’re gonna have a nice long talk about that when they declare a mistrial
I mean for people that grew up here, the beef he was allegedly involved with resulted in some innocent people dying.
I can’t really fault folks that have this mindset whether they was a fan or not.
We need to have a long nice talk about why is it we want our rappers to “keep it real” all the time but we already have threads confirming we never gonna be ready for that one ( rt @browser )
Unless the plea deal is time served, I don’t think they gonna fight for a mistrial. Just wait it out until acquittal
What would that look like
How would holding out lead to acquittal ?
Them kids of his still made that video.
Free or not, that kind of s*** leaves a lasting impact on folks. I’m saying this as a nigga that teaches kids bro that s*** almost had me crying.

They’ve had plenty of time to prove whether he was “allegedly” involved in that beef or not. At this point, if you’re losing your case to the lawyers that passed their client a perc in court, you’re probably the legal equivalent of the basketball team that lost to Air Bud

thread on it
basically, the state is incompetent and i doubt their ability to put together a jury within that time
