Ofc Drake brought something to the table

That's the diff between being influenced by someone and just ripping him off like Tory does

Tory off the list I don't think anyone fighting him too hard to keep on

Drake has clawed his way back into the convo I will allow it

No he hasnt he influenced singers and r&b niggas like i said. PND,Bryson Tiller,Weeknd,Tory these are singers who also rap.

Also half of Weeknd OG album was given to Drake to make Take Care so calling Drake his influence is insane.

That only raises my point he was influenced more then influential.

    Tiller
    Chance
    Tory
    Sean
    Russ
    Gambino
    Kyle
    Vic Mensa
    Logic
    G-Eazy
    Post Malone
    A boogie
    PND

Just a few examples that I could think of, Not saying he invented the style but he definitely popularised it, aka influenced.

It's so much mid on here and half these people list Kanye as their main influence from Chance to Gambino.

The style was already popular tho

F*** this thread took off I would just like to add I think it's important to consider the CURRENT STATE OD HIP HOP AS OF TODAY what sounds have prospered and ultimately WHAT DO WE WANT TO KEEP HEARING GOING INTO THE NEXT DECADE

Tbh his influence is more noticeable in R&B than hip hop

When I think of Drake's sound The Weeknd, PND, Bryson come to mind.

And two of them were Drake's writers

    Since we using direct quotes

“When I first heard “Through the Wire” on the radio and right after that, my mom went and bought me College Dropout and then every Kanye West album since then,” he said. “That was the first real music that I called my own. That was a big thing for me. After that, I was able to reach back and find music that I loved that represented me growing up. That was my first real experience with hip hop.”

'College Dropout' Was My First Real Experience with Hip-Hop"

    djbooth.net/features/2016-07-01-the-college-dropout-chance-the-rapper

He's even said he didn't listen to rap before Kanye. Drake is an influence but nowhere near kanyes on chance.

Definitely not top 3 but honourable mention goes to Wiz
