Logic is a chameleon just like Tory. They both just copy whatever is popping

Logic copies Eminem, Kendrick, Drake, Cole, etc

Tory copies Wayne, The Weeknd, Drake, Kendrick, etc

That reminds me of lil skies dude was a cheap version of each popping rapper from 2010 to 2015 before he found his style

Whether you like him or not, I think it's quite dumb to say Drake didn't influence an entire wave of melodic rappers and rappers that are more open to exposing themselves emotionally.

He didn't start the wave had already started infact the cover he did for the freshman class he was apart of was based around the fact Hip Hop had changed.

This may be an age thing but Drake wasn't considered the starter on that he was APART of the wave That came post 808s.

He just got the biggest out of the group but that doesn't designate him the wave starter or influence.

He was a result of Ye off 808s

    papi looking so pretty here

One of the things I hate about the internet is with even more info folks rewrite s*** even more.

There's this new idea 808s wasn't groundbreaking, that T Pain deserves credit for starting the wave and that Drake wasn't influenced by it.

But no everyone from XXL to the artist themselves acknowledge it as the final breaking point. Graduation killed Gangster rap and 808s buried it. The wave was started by Ye.

Grad was just Kanye goin pop and had 0 influence on the culture whatsoever. You can argue 808s had influence and Tpain was def the grandfather of autotune usage

  • Nov 23, 2019

Keef birthed all these new nigs

This is just Testing era but there are many older vids by Rocky where he's gushing about Cudi

    Everyone literally everyone

    Tory Lanez
    Bryson Tiller
    PND
    Weeknd
    Nav
    Kanye
    Logic
    Childish Gambino
    G Eazy

And he influenced all of his contemporaries from the Ye’s to the Qs to the whole genre of Hip Hop. He created a flow and way of melodic singing and rapping on beat that is the defining sound of the 2010s

So many people will sit here and deny it but Hip Hop is chronological. We can find every post by every one of these guys that gave it up to Drake and unless you were there when we saw Drake drop and the wave of rappers that started using diff flows and formats is massive. I wanna fullly make a fleshed out post on this and love to have an objective discussion

Drake has clawed his way back into the convo I will allow it

Yeah it's rappers who sing but Tory is the biggest one and he ain't even done 100k yet or has a major hit.

Until someone is actually successful with your style I don't think I can call you an influence.

Gucci,Future,Thug,Keef, Wayne and Ye all have Niggas damn near hitting they styles and looks even now.

The autotune, fashion, dreads,Trap, art talk it's all from them.

LUV most definitely a major hit

    Say It arguably as well

I will never disagree but I see a difference in 808s and Drake's early sound Kanye may have birthed it but Drake did bring something to the table.m hate the direction he ultimately went with his sound tbh that future collab ruined Drake for me

He said Grad had no influence on the culture whatsoever like rappers were name dropping Murakami before He brought him into that game

It's so much off wit that post from the fact it inspired Tyler's colorful style and Chances aswell Idk what to say.

Ofc Drake brought something to the table

That's the diff between being influenced by someone and just ripping him off like Tory does
