90's: R Kelly (S/T) is what most consider to be his best.
2000's: Chocolate Factory or Happy People
2010's: Love Letter (Which is my personal fav)

Nah, it's all good. I understand how we can get caught up in other s***.
Love Letter is my personal favorite and IMO his most cohesive album. That's because it's a tribute to Stevie, Marvin, Sam, etc. and a number of songs on that album were originally written for MJ and I believe started off as reference tracks that he souped up once Michael died.

I would add in TP2 to Teal's list if you can squeeze it in there at some point. That's my personal favorite and definitely up there with his best work. Whole thing is no feats too, just pure Kells all the way through.

@YoungWaltDisney He's right. It's never been in my Top 5 but people LOVE that album and if you ask anybody that's a fan you'd most likely get recommended TP2 before the majority of the albums mentioned itt.

Since Love Letter is your fave R album, what did you think about Write Me Back as a whole, and as a follow up to LL?
Wasnt as good as LL to me but definitely a worthy follow up imo and underrated

i thought it was a solid follow up and i respect the risks that he took. it was more experimental than love letter but missed its mark by a hair. my fav songs from wmb are you are my world, feelin single, believe that it's so, believe in me and share my love.
I actually favor 12 Nights of Christmas, which was originally intended to be the 3rd installment in the Love Letter series. If these didn't have the xmas theme, they'd fit right in.

Bruh I loved the Christmas album though. I'm still mad that's the last album we got and yeah I didn't even realize it does feel like a follow up to the Love Letter series with just a Christmas theme..
Home For Christmas and The Greatest Gift are my faves off that. Gotta respect how good and diversified the album sounded too considering its probably hard writing 12 original songs about Christmas lol
On a side note, I remember he did a remix of Backyard Party and made it a Christmas song. I wish this had been on the album too even though it was already on Buffet as BP.

Lol I should have figured you heard most of em they easy to find on YT
But yeah itll be interesting to see if anything gets released after his passing or if he gets locked up permanently. Someone somewhere out there though has access to his vault though since those other songs leaked. Sucks we didn't get the album he was working on before he got locked up, which was rumored to be a country album.
the irony of saying that with a keef smiley
This is the dumbest post in this whole thread.

Teal, I listened to all three & although every album is great Love Letter is beautiful. I am crying to Lost In Your Love rn
Also, it’s incredible to me that R Kelly can create something as beautiful & tender as Heart Of A Woman & still do the actions he’s done. Such a beautiful beautiful song

I had a feeling you'd enjoy Love Letter the most. As strange as it sounds to say now (more than ever), I like to think of Kellz as an artist of the people, no pretentious bullshit or gimmicks, just a man who was an incredible singer, polished producer and melody man. He didn't have to go over and out to impress you with his music. Kellz simply had all the fundamentals down-pat.
