@Teal_ dude I have been playing nothing but R Kelly since this thread was made. I have played tf out of CF, LL, R Kelly Self Titled, Happy Days, and now moving on to TP2

This dude is incredible, true musical genius. I do have one question, though, do you know what the R Kelly song is with the female background vocals that keep getting pitched higher & higher, and it sounds like “everrrr, everrrr, everrrr”

And each time the word is said, the female background vocals get pitched louder? I heard it this weekend but now I can’t find it on any of the Kelly albums I have been listening too

I love them all in different ways, but my favs so far are definitely R Kelly self titled, LL, & Happy People but an TP2 & CF are so good it’s a b**** to rank them, it’s like ranking Kanye discog lol

I know my taste and your taste are very similar, so I knew for a fact those albums were gonna connect immediately. They're very rich, harmonious and warm. TP2 is seriously the album that GP would probably pick as a favorite, but as much as I enjoy it, it's hard to place in my Top 3. I also have the version that features the dirty remix. I believe that was the international version, so we might be listening to two diff versions of that album. This skit basically sums up why R. Kelly got away with it for so long.

The sad part is he was so dope, this could actually be done.

Dude he has sooo many emotional songs on TP-2, I Don’t Mean It & the Greatest You & Just Like That are three beautiful songs man

And yes he was absolutely blessed with a gift ppl would die for. I got very emotional at the start of Surviving R Kelly when his older brother said “he would come in the house crying saying ‘I’m tired of being bullied at school & being made fun of for not being able to read or write’” makes me super happy he was able to find his genius passion. & also how, despite his horrid actions, his teacher talked about how “advanced” his musical talent was at such a young age, and Sparkle saying he’s a creative genius. Those are the points I keep in my heart when listening to R Kelly, and not the horrific actions of his personal life.

His music has made such an impact on my life already man, I can’t get over it (sry for long text I just don’t have anyone else to geek out of his music with man lirl)

Glad to hear you liked TP2 as well as the other albums you listened to.

Your right Tp2 does have plenty of emotional songs. A lot of critics I read tried to make it seem like it was just and overly sexual and perverted album, but literally half the album is about either romantic relationships or sorrowful songs.

But yeah in regards to him not being able to read and write, it's very incredible how he was able to overcome that, and just being someone who struggled severely academically and was able to will himself to become what he became.
