Top 5 from pretty much 2016 and on who have no more that 2 studio albums currently out.

    1. Roddy Ricch- definitely most upside his debut proved that, and I see him having longevity in this game, extremely versatile

    2. Doja Cat- yes she’s honestly the best all around female artist in the game and is just getting started artistically she’s the most impressive and has the most range out of most rappers in the game

    3. Baby Keem- this dude really just getting started I see a lot of upside with him, and there’s already a lot of hype surrounded around him, plus he’s Kendrick cousin he’s got the industry connects which I feel pretty confident about which with keep him around for a minute, plus DIE FOR MY B**** A CLASSIC

    4. Smino- honestly the rawest most versatile of the list, but I don’t see the same mainstream appeal the other 3 will get, but I think if he plays his cards right he could be extremely loved by the critics and have a very loyal fan base and will be always be consistent on dropping quality music.

    5. Jack Harlow or The Kid LaRoi- honestly one of these two The industry gonna push both of them extremely hard they both have the up
Side both young with a lot of potential both make good music and they’re white boys who white people will eat alive. They have a lot of potential commercially.

Drops your guys list and start a debate. And what you think bout OPs list trash or spot on?

More people need to support female artists

op said since 2016 and he only had like 2 tapes out before then.

Honestly none of these dudes listed will have the same staying power or impact that Drake, Kendrick ,or Cole had on the game. Honestly the 3 of them are top 10 all time they ran a decade and were top 3 for 10 years how many other rappers can you say that about. Kanye, Jay, Em, Wayne, Nas and 3 stacks but that’s it fr.

  • Apr 3, 2020

The top 2 on that list literally don’t have the staying power or wont be able to make an impact on the game like that to be top 5 I promise you that. They are very good artist tho.

I wouldn’t count 2016 freshmen as new school tho.

They’ve got more years in the game than Kendrick when he dropped TPAB.

They’ve been popping for half a decade.

But true OP should’ve said post 2018

Like this list fr. 6LACK is a great artist and will be around for a minute and I think Cordae has a lot of potential too but I think he’ll be more Big Sean tier which is actually great but not to the level of the likes of Drake, Kendrick, and Cole. And JID is phenomenal a big fan of him I’d compare him to someone like Vince Staples we kno dude can rap his ass off and he will definitely have a great fan base and a niche market. But the mainstream appeal will keep him from making that long term lasting impact in the game.
