  • Does the 2016-2017 xxl class still count as new school?

Like this list fr. 6LACK is a great artist and will be around for a minute and I think Cordae has a lot of potential too but I think he’ll be more Big Sean tier which is actually great but not to the level of the likes of Drake, Kendrick, and Cole. And JID is phenomenal a big fan of him I’d compare him to someone like Vince Staples we kno dude can rap his ass off and he will definitely have a great fan base and a niche market. But the mainstream appeal will keep him from making that long term lasting impact in the game.

    You heard Cordae’s debut album?

That was one of the hardest debut albums in recent years. I feel like Cordae is gonna go for that J. Cole lane where his core fanbase will keep him afloat. He’s young so people are sleeping on him now but the way he raps, his appeal, his image and based on his debut album. He’s definately gonna be around for a long time.

Honestly none of these dudes listed will have the same staying power or impact that Drake, Kendrick ,or Cole had on the game. Honestly the 3 of them are top 10 all time they ran a decade and were top 3 for 10 years how many other rappers can you say that about. Kanye, Jay, Em, Wayne, Nas and 3 stacks but that’s it fr.

Just Kanye Jay em and Wayne

    That’s it.
I don’t really know how new school they should be but Smino and JID would definitely be on this list.

Honestly bro that’s fr a big factor in my top 10 honestly. People’s greatest basketball players off all time don’t make it based off 5 seasons. It’s over the long run and there only a handful of rappers who have been able to maintain that success and relevancy for longer than a decade. I’m actually shook there’s people out there who don’t believe Cole, Drake, or Kendrick haven’t solidified themselves a spot in the top 10 all time. When they have literally been top for for a decade running as l far as relevancy, success, and impact goes.
