I think you would enjoy Tombstone then. It’s paced differently then a lot of Westerns. Action packed and has stars with an action movie director. A gateway d*** to Westerns if you’re not used to Westerns.

IG isnt really a war film in the typical sense. Its more like a revenge comedy just using WW2 as a setting.
You should check out The Hateful Eight and No Country for Old Men for modern takes on westerns.
