I @'d every nigga i can remember i have/had in-depth music convos with on here cuz this s*** is wild, funny, dope, interesting and extremely under the radar of areas n niggas we never hear from and especially in the 90s - and most vids are 500 or less views, and i DONT recognize ANY of these names ive seen so far
theres tons of these channels that upload tape rips of random 90s underground s*** from various local scenes from places you wouldn't really think had one

s***s so dope lmao they always pop up in my reccs from time to time and random leak vaults that are all way under the radar, but the sheer amount of this channel of these "other" areas is WILD
Just goes to show that marketing and industry push plays a major role in hip hop even from inception.
Being in that NYC, LA, and eventually Atlanta media space is a cheat code when it comes to rap promotion.
Even as someone from New Jersey, many of our rappers needed to essentially be cosigned by NYC labels and rappers to blow up which caused many people to lump NJ rappers and NYC rappers together. I still know niggas to this day outside NJ who think Redman and Method Man hail from the same hometown.

Funny that you mention IOWA and Nebraska. For the longest time I've been trying to dive into their Hip Hop scenes. Used RYM Regional Hip Hop Guide as reference but they didn't showcase the full scene like that.
Dope that there is more in the tank from them. Imma dive in, thanks bro

big FAXX
there has always been a "wannabe youtube/soundcloud rapper" scenes and people out there
ive always been really interested in digging into 90s and early 2000s underground scenes too since its not catalogged anywhere and "mixtape" in the modern sense wasnt fully ubiquitous until 50 Cent and Lil Wayne
some of them are actually dope on this channel too, including the dudes from the more popular areas that still didnt catch on
and im sure at least a few of these guys were known and famous n influential locally like the Dallas guys (D-Crew is the only name that rings a bell for me so far), but straight-up alien to anyone else - while most were still "nobodies"
You either gotta be connected, or have a sound that is so out of here and poppin that creates a whole new scene and eyes on your originally unknown scene - like NWA with Compton, Bone Thugs for Cleveland or Naughty By Nature for New Jersey etc. which were "nobody areas" as well before them

I shared this before but I remember following Chance The Rapper in the early 2010's when he still responded to Youtube comments and I made a troll post(which was deleted) on "Prom Night" that he responded to in a very wholesome way.
Even though people called him a "plant", I very vividly remember how organic his rise was in the start.

same, the "plant" s*** never made sense for him to me neither, i was also on him early too (i was early on a lot of 2010s niggas especially up to 2016, that was my stomping ground n i was everywhere).
i learned of him during his transition period for Acid Rap after 10 Day was out for a while, in the middle of working on AR and he dropped the Juice music video as the first "single" with the og announcement of Acid Rap when "no one" still knew him outside of Chi - so I checked out 10 Day tape due to it and waited for a whole year till AR finally dropped. wild how it was a complete opposite change, went from zero to 10 right away with Acid Rap having a great ad campaign plus the full on Save Money collective becoming serious with their group for each other and pushed each other hardcore that also helped tons.
that boy put in a lot of work until coloring book, like most artists literally do. its actually rare for an actual legit industry plant, but they do exist. he’s just not one of them.
There’s a page like this that only post obscure Florida music. Love pages like this

i forgot to @ you dawg my b, i usually do
but same!
That Omaha song sounds like a high quality version of 90s Memphis Rap
Might sound more closer to Chi Town tho (Do Or Die, Twista, etc.)
Digital crate digging! I know what I’m doing tomorrow. Appreciate the heads up @op

theres legit gems on here even from the more known areas, i was listening an hour straight before i madee the thread just letting the player play random vids from his channel - s*** is a goldmine and so interesting
some of them have entries on just discogs .com and a few have any info anywhere else while most of them a are straight lost to time completely - legit under the surface of the iceberg type s*** more than any other archive page i ever came across so far, its wild

I’m from Newark bro everything you said is facts. The internet helped change a lot but there are still roadblocks for Jersey rappers
this kee wee track is deadly too
thats my personal favorite one of what ive personally found so far! legit could have been a "real" record that would easily fit the times with just a lil bit more better audio/mixing quality for the time
clever hook, dope lyrics n beat plus his unique delivery n voice he could have been sumn imo, it says he had a big local song single too on the cover that is now featured in the album as well n i tried to look it up but couldnt find it - imma try to find the full project online when i get the chance tomorrow
