What a terrible idea
That’s how most people navigate s***ty videos from good ones
real.
I always used it for that. And as someone who is a content creator I never cared about the likes, retention is a better metric.
Honestly I think it was to opitmize music streaming; loading the comments may have slowed down music streaming
Huh
I feel like they overestimate the impact of brand and the image of the creator when most viewers on this platform look to content first. I might fw with a video on a channel and they got this another bad video but im not attached like that to start judging you immediately that ay you are a wack creator
There's more dynamics here, consider the creators who look to the dislike function for valid criticism because guess what, people are capable of adapting and learning and not everybody is about getting their feelings hurt
Its not YT job to take care of people's feelings
I wonder if it was cos any vaccine related news stories was getting dislike bombed by anti vax groups. either way its a dumb idea
Imagine still being mad at a commercial from almost 3 years ago
Some of y’all are so sad holy f*** lmao
thats just a vivid memory of youtube trying to push an agenda
relax lil bro, ill get ya some milk later
Not entirely against it but I’d like them to explain the research, testing, and impact they believe this will have.
if we're being honest youtube is a washed platform but they have a monopoly in that space so what are you gonna do
YouTube, “washed”?
i was just thinking of this recently. used to love reading like old 40-50 year olds dropping stories you'd never hear anywhere else in the comments. felt like campfire stories or something again. gonna be a lost art.
Always wondered why this was a thing. Sometimes I be wanting to know what people think of certain songs

I think it's actually something handled by the artists and not universal, but it seems like anything which isn't self-uploaded and generated through distribution has everything disabled by default. Some newer artists who are clearly self-uploading songs still have comments enabled for example. No idea why they'd do this though.

you've had 3 years to think about that commercial and ain't learned a thing
have a good rest of your day bro

I didnt present any feelings towards the content of the commercial. But it was shady and b**** made to manipulate the like to dislike ratio
some of yall dont know how to read fr. you just make assumptions about something and roll with it
S*** is already woat
Looking for videos to review lecture topics and now I have no way of knowing if the video is a dub or not before watching for several minutes
F*** Google and f*** YouTube. Bunch of lames I swear
This s*** f***ing sucks. YouTube is the premier guide for how to do basically anything, but how are we supposed to know which guide videos are good and which arent now? Come on bro. I’m tryna figure out how to clean my camera and now I can’t tell if I’m following a trusted guide or if I’m about to f*** up my focus screen.
