Smacked VoodooI just find it crazy some of y'all are mad comfortable calling a 15yo who called police for help after getting jumped by a group of people while adults stood by and watched it happen and the only way to defend herself was with a knife a criminal...
Yes, the girl should've locked up the house and stayed inside after calling the police, but it seems like she wasn't able to simply do that as this was her foster home, and the girls attacking her were also in the same foster home.
Y'all don't have to co-sign the girl using a knife to defend herself, but if you getting jumped by 3-4 other people while a bunch of grown ass adults just stand around watching, I would hope you find some way to defend yourself. Cause when you getting jumped all rules are out, clearly nobody there is willing to run a fair one.

S***, the real truth of this matter is that it shouldn't have led to police getting called in the first damn place. Cops are trained to empty the entire clip once they start firing.
It’s an all or nothing deal. They shoot to kill, not incapacitate (which is unlikely to happen anyway).
I’m not saying it’s right, it’s still a tragedy, but that’s their training. It’s not like the movies, they can’t shoot the knife out of her hand, or even hit the arm (especially when it’s moving, it’s a small target). Could also result in the bullet exiting and hitting the girl in front of her.
The leg could also result in a severed artery, which is pretty much death.
It’s not quite a cut and dry situation.
Now if she was just standing there holding a knife, or even walking towards the officers that would be a different story. She appeared to be in the process of mid stab.

We need MASSIVE police reform for sure, but you can’t abolish the entire police force, that’s how you get vigilante groups, which is no bueno.
Look up the Murray-Hill riot, and that was just 16 hours.
It’d probably look borderline apocalyptic.
