The non-masculine stereotype does actually extend to south Asians. If you look at pop culture, there is almost no south Asians who are portrayed as masculine. Most are portrayed as weak men who are creepy around women (Aziz Ansari, the brown guy from the big bang theory, etc.). There is probably more masculine east Asians (Bruce Lee, Jet Li, etc.) than masculine south Asian figures in western media.
